These terms govern your use of VeraStaff, operated by Analytical Mind Geeks Data Solutions Ltd (AMG). By using the app you agree to them. Please read them with our Privacy Policy.
1. What VeraStaff is
VeraStaff is a marketplace that helps employers find and connect with verified workers offering informal, domestic and freelance services in Nigeria. VeraStaff provides verification, discovery, a trust score, and a paid connection service. VeraStaff is not the employer of any worker, is not a party to the work arrangement between an employer and a worker, and does not supply the services themselves.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account secure.
3. Accounts and identity
You sign in with your phone number. Workers must complete a NIN identity check to be visible, and the verified name is locked to the profile. You are responsible for activity on your account.
4. The connection service and payments
Employers pay a connection fee to reveal a worker's contact details. Workers may pay for optional verifications. Fees are shown before payment and are processed by our payment provider. The connection fee pays for the verified match and platform services; it is not a fee for the work itself, and VeraStaff does not take a commission on the work. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable once the connection or verification has been delivered. Where a manual verification cannot be completed, the corresponding fee is refunded.
5. The relationship between employers and workers
Any agreement, payment for work, schedule, or terms of a job are arranged directly between the employer and the worker. VeraStaff does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any work, and is not responsible for the conduct of any user. Verification badges and trust scores are indicators based on checks and feedback; they are not guarantees. You are responsible for your own due diligence before hiring or accepting work.
6. Verifications and what they mean
A verification badge means a specific check (such as NIN, BVN, address, guarantor, reference, or police clearance) was carried out and passed at a point in time. It is not a guarantee of present or future conduct. VeraStaff may update or remove a badge if information changes.
7. Trust score and feedback
The trust score is built from references and confirmed hires, weighted by reliability and recency. You agree to give honest feedback and not to manipulate scores. VeraStaff operates automated and manual checks to detect manipulation and may flag, hide, or remove content or profiles as a result.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to: provide false information; impersonate others; share another person's contact details without consent; attempt to exchange contact details to avoid the connection service; post unlawful, fraudulent, harassing, or sexual content; solicit unlawful services; or interfere with the platform's operation. Attempts to share phone numbers, emails, or handles inside profile text may be blocked or removed.
9. Reporting and moderation
You can report a profile you believe is fake, abusive, or sharing contact details improperly. VeraStaff reviews reports and may hide profiles, remove references, or suspend accounts. VeraStaff may take action at its discretion to protect users and the integrity of the platform.
10. Suspension and termination
VeraStaff may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, fraud, or to comply with law. You may stop using VeraStaff at any time. Certain reputation history may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VeraStaff and AMG are not liable for any loss arising from the work arrangement between users, the conduct of any user, reliance on a verification badge or trust score, or interruptions to the service. The platform is provided on an "as is" basis. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Nigerian law.
12. Intellectual property
VeraStaff, its name, logo, and content are owned by AMG. You may not copy or misuse them.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. We will post the updated version here and notify you in-app of material changes. Continued use means you accept the changes.
